Hardest Animals to Photograph

What are some of the hardest animals to photograph? All animals are, at times, difficult to take pictures of. Whether a shy family pet, or a group of wild animals unwilling to stand still, animals rarely do the things photographers want them to. It takes a seasoned photographer to seize an opportunity and make a great picture come out of it. Some feel that bird and insects are especially hard to capture. Birds are very mobile and skittish, and the small sizes of insects makes them hard to catch.
Birds and insects
When trying to take pictures of birds, it is better to use a long range lens. Getting too close can cause the subjects to fly off. Birds are extremely nervous, and those species which are not common in urban settings and accustomed to the noise and movements of people do not take easily to intrusions into their environment. For small insects, use a high-quality zooming lens. This gives photographers the chance to stand back some and capture more of the action. Insects move fast, so adjust the lens settings to prevent blurring of the images.
Wild animals
Unaccustomed to people, wild animals can run off or act violently if confronted by a photographer. For these situations, it is best to use a long range lens and exercise caution. Using camouflage when in the wild helps the photographer to blend in more, giving more opportunities for candid pictures.
Any animal is hard to capture. Finding ways to blend into the environment, or using special equipment, is one way to get the best pictures. Knowing the behavior of the subject is a great way to catch them at their best and avoid dangerous situations.
